Scotland transgender prison row: Nicola Sturgeon says public need 'greater clarity'; SCOTLAND: Glasgow: BBC Studioworks studios: INT Various of Nicola Sturgeon 'operating' tv camera as touring new tv studios - comments, "watching you watching us" SOT Nicola Sturgeon MSP (First Minister of Scotland) interview SOT - [re government intervention in case of trans prisoner Isla Bryson and Scotland transgender prison row] it is about giving certainty and assurance to the public who understandably, given media focus, will have concerns - [re decision to send Katie Dolatowski (transgender woman / convicted sex offender) to women's prison] prison service has system of risk assessment in place/ these are operation decisions taken by the Scottish Prison Service/ - overwhelming majority of trans community commit no crimes - not going to comment on decisions taken in the past by Prison Service/ we've seen a heightened degree of public concern around these issues - many of concerns raised about recent reform bill are real concerns and I'm not suggesting opponents of that are by definition badly motivated/ - some people who are anti rights for trans people are probably anti rights for gay people and other minorities as well - that is a fact/ I don't think that's something that can be denied in any real sense
