World Refugee Day Action, ANTI-TRUMP, New York City

NEW YORK, NY – JUNE 20, 2017: On World Refugee Day a group of protestors gathered on Manhattan’s 59th Street % 5th Avenue to protest the United States President’s policies and administration. The African Communities Together (ACT), the City of Refuge Coalition and other partners marched and rallied to “Stop the Refugee Ban, Save Asylum and Defend Temporary Protected Status (TPS)”. The protestors marched from 59th Street to Dag Hammarskjold Plaza – United Nations Plaza. Prior to reaching Dag Hammarskjold Plaza a stand was made at the Trump World Tower, 845 United Nations Plaza. The culmination of the rally coincided with the Interfaith Ifar (An Iftar is the ceremonial ‘breaking of fast’ observed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan).
