Senator Durbin says President Trump once a real estate mogul and insurrection cheerleader claimed to be a doctor issuing Liberation Day tariffs though none know intent

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin says in daily floor remarks that President Trump played many roles in his career, including a billionaire real estate mogul on the hit reality show The Apprentice and a cheerleader ramping up an angry mob of insurrectionists to storm the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021, but his most outlandish role was calling himself a doctor when he took to social media after his "Liberation Day" tariffs to announce that "the operation is over, the patient lived, is healing, and will be far stronger, bigger, better and more resilient than ever before," which, in his twisted metaphor, referred to his 10 percent tariff tax on imports from almost every nation as a successful operation on the US economy that actually deserved a medical malpractice lawsuit and could push the country into a desperate recession, causing businesses in Illinois to cut jobs or shut down entirely due to increased costs.
