Congresswoman Salazar says TAKE IT DOWN Act sends clear message to Big Tech

Florida Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida says in debate on the Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks Act or TAKE IT DOWN Act that the legislation finally sent a loud and clear message to big tech companies like Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok that they must remove fake images within 48 hours when a victim demands it or be considered as guilty and responsible as the predator who created them, and warned bullies, predators, and perverts hiding behind computers that if they dared to create fake material targeting innocent children, they would go to prison for a long time. The bill later passed by a 402-2 vote.
