Hong Kong's hunger for land reclamation deprives white dolphins of their home

Conservationists blame the construction of a massive bridge for a decline in the Chinese white dolphin population, which has plummeted to less than half of a decade ago in the waters off this Chinese territory. The decline was particularly acute in waters east of the Hong Kong International Airport where only one of the commonly called "pink dolphins" was observed in 2014, compared with 20 in 2001.The government’s report is based on the study by the Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society.
