Beaune is a historical city with many touristic attractions. It is the capital of Bourgogne wine region, in the east of France (roughly between Paris and Geneva), in the department of Côte d'Or, Burgundy (Bourgogne). The "Hospices de Beaune" building (also called :"Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune") is a famous former charitable almshouse in Beaune. It was founded in the 15th century as a hospital for the poor. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of French fifteenth-century architecture.
