The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is located in El-Fustat, a historic area in Cairo, Egypt. This museum, which overlooks a lake, houses 20 royal mummies and a vast collection of artifacts from Ancient Egypt to modern times. In 2021, NMEC saw the grand opening of the Royal Mummies Hall, which became the new home for 22 royal mummies transferred from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to their new home in Fustat.
