Annual festival of folk culture, Maslenitsa celebrated in Russia's Krasnoyarsk

Maslenitsa is an East Slavic traditional celebration observed the week before Lent. It has pre-Christian Slavic mythological elements preserved in its ritual foundation. For Catholics, Maslenitsa is comparable to "Fat Tuesday" and the Meat Feast. Every year, depending on when Easter is celebrated, the date of Maslenitsa changes.
