Twisted Metal from the LA Times Building

(Original Caption) 10/1/1910-Los Angeles, CA- Shortly after one o'clock on Oct. 1, 1910, an explosion rocked the LA Times building, killing 20 persons & injuring 17. In 10/1911, Detective Burns finally caused the arrest of the McNamara brothers as leaders of a dynamite ring who had been terrorizing the country. When the trial was on for 2 weeks, the brothers pleaded guilty. The photo shows the scene of the Los Angeles "Times" explosion as the ruins were combed for bodies.
