Tunnel launch for second S-Bahn main line in Munich

15 January 2025, Bavaria, Munich: A large hall at a depth of 38 meters can be seen on the construction site of the 2nd main line at Marienhof during a media visit on the occasion of a tunnel tapping ceremony. The tracks and platform of the Marienhof station will be located just a few meters below this point. The substructure, which is 27 meters deep and 91 meters long, connects the future Marienhof S-Bahn station on the 2nd main line with the existing subway lines at Marienplatz.
