(Original Caption) Doumene Abdelkader, city councillor and a notorious supporter of the Algerian National movement, lies on a city street April 30th after he was killed by an executioner of the National Liberation Front. The rivalry between Nationalist factions brings to light a new phase in Algerian unrest. Five Nationalist guerrillas wound up in a French prison April 30th after the planned murder of another rebel band failed. A total of sixty rebels were reported killed in three encounters with French security forces in East Algeria, April 30th.
