(Original Caption) Anita DeFranz, shown in this photograph, a member of the Athletes Advisory Council and bronze medal winner in rowing at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, will be one of the American Olympic hopefuls who will meet with President Jimmy Carter this week in an attempt to keep alive their chances of competing in the 1980 Moscow Olmypic Games. DeFranz said the meeting, in Washington on March 21st, will be the first direct communication between the athletes.
