Zach and Clyde

When Zachary Tucker was diagnosed in 2010 with Asperger syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism, his mother said he had extreme anxiety and his emotional state was deteriorating quickly. In search of anything that might help Zach cope with anxiety, the Tuckers discovered the Colorado Correctional Industries (CCI), Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program. Soon, Christopher Vogt, who is serving a 48-year sentence for second-degree murder, began working with Zach to train his service dog, Clyde. Three years later, “No one can look at Zachary and say that Clyde hasn’t made his life better,” according to his teacher Erin Carroll.
