Senator Cornyn Responds to Attack of Senator Reid on Donald Trump After Election

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn says that the 2016 election brought opportunities to turn the direction of the country around but having listened to Senator Harry Reid criticize President-elect Donald Trump, Reid does nothing to contribute to healing the country after a very polarizing, hotly contested election by continuing to pile on the President-elect and his team. Cornyn says he had to consult Senate Rule 19 which prohibits imputing others, adding that after Reid leaves the Senate that it can return to the sort of civil and dignified discourse and differences of opinion that we surely will have from time to time about matters of policy, concluding that this is a United States Senate, for Heaven's Sake. Cornyn says that the American people want change, they are eager for Washington to tackle the big challenges, they want restoration of the rule of law, to shift gears, and they felt it was necessary to get the country back on the right track, adding that he agreed with them.
