Senator Harris ponders proud late mother in VP nomination acceptance speech

Nominee for vice president Kamala Harris says in her acceptance speech to the 2020 Democratic National Convention that she kept thinking about her Indian mother 25 years old all of 5 feet tall giving birth to her in Oakland, never imagining Kamala would be standing before America to accept the nomination for vice president, doing so committed to values she taught to walk by faith and not by sight, sharing a vision of the nation as Joe Biden were all welcome the matter what they look like, come from or who they love, though all may not agree on every detail united by the fundamental belief that every human being was of infinite worth, rise and fall is one, facing challenges and celebrating triumphs together.
