Lampard insists there’s no tension over him dropping Arrizabalaga

Frank Lampard has insisted there is no tension with Chelsea’s board over him dropping Spain goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spanish stopper commanded a world-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper when he joined Chelsea for £72million in August 2018. The 25-year-old has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge, though, with veteran Willy Caballero stepping up for the last two Premier League matches. But now Lampard has insisted he is under no pressure to select the big-money signing. Lampard also went on to say that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is in line for his first Chelsea appearance of the season having finally shaken off his long-term Achilles problem.l The England midfielder will be part of Chelsea’s match squad for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, but boss Frank Lampard admitted he will not be fit to start. Loftus-Cheek tore his Achilles tendon in April, but now Lampard hopes the 24-year-old can step up his push for full fitness.
