The Région des 1000 étangs (1000 ponds region), also called Plateau des 1000 étangs (1000 ponds plateau), is a mountain plateau located in the south-west part of the Vosges mountains, in the Haute-Saone department. It consists of around 850 ponds, interspersed with moors, forests and meadows. It is a popular nature and bucolic destination in the area. Picture shows a small jettty in one of the pond, in an area nicknamed "Petite Finlande" (Tiny Finland), one of the most beautiful and picturesque of the plateau. The plateau is part of the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges (Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park).
