Place Stanislas is a classical-style square, located in the center Nancy, in the historic region of Lorraine, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. The square was built by Stanisław Leszczyński (Stanislas in French or Stanislaus I - 1677-1766, King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine and Bar) between 1751 and 1755, under the direction of the architect Emmanuel Héré.
