Overlooking the bay of Pazzuoli from Miseno, to the city with the same name, one is actually looking what some academics call a supervolcano. The Campi Flegrei caldera is supposed to bee much bigger and life-threatening than Vesuvius was when it wiped out Pompeii, though it is not a volcano with the classic cone-shaped mountain. For the time being, Pazzuoli is part of greater Naples, and a typical Meditrranean city along the central Italian coast, surrounded by volcanic formation, and bustling with life, making it an attractive scene at night.
