The Necropolis of Memphis, or Necropolis of Saqqara, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the edge of the desert, in the region that used to be the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis. The image was captured on a hot, cloudless early afternoon of august the 17th 2023, while entering the archeological site of extreme historical importance, as Memphis was the first capital of a united Egypt as one nation, and at the Necropolis of Saqqara, one not only has the findings of many tombs and a vast array of burials, but also the first pyramid constructions that eventually culminate in the construction of the three Great Pyramids of Giza. The image shows an access ramp coming from the direction of the Nile River, to the site, and some date trees, typical along the Nile's valley, and resistant to the extreme heat.
