An Early Spring Tapestry of Trees in Great Basin National Park. While walking the Sage Steppe Loop with a view looking to the southeast up a nearby mountainside to more distant ridges and peaks. This is in the Strawberry Creek area of Great Basin National Park. My thought on composing this image was to capture a layered look with the different portions of this new growth and forest fire affected forest. Nearby would be the grassy meadow that I was walking along the trail. Then would come the spring time growth from nearby aspens. More distant wildfire damaged forest would continue up the mountainside. The blue skies and clouds would be that color contrast to complement the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.
