The cost of building the Osaka Expo 2025 venue is expected to rise to 235 billion yen (US$1.6 billion). When Osaka was chosen to host Expo 2025, the cost estimate for the construction of the venue was initially 125 billion yen. In 2020, that estimate was raised to 185 billion yen.
