Developed by Rene Lacoste, the old time French Musketeer, the round headed racquet is made of chrome plated tubing and stainless wire, a frame supposedly more durable and resilient than wood. The racquet takes conventional nylon or gut stringing. A major innovation is the open throat, which reduces wind resistance in the act of stroking.
