DENVER, CO., MARCH 27, 2004 - Steve Eagleburger, left, and his wife Tracey and their son Sam are building what is apparently the first adobe house in Denver proper in modern times. It's a 1,000 square foot two-bedroom place going up behind the house they live in now, and the dirt for the adobe bricks all came from the site itself, meaning it's pretty environmentally correct. The design, which Steve did with the help of AutoCad software, is passive solar, and most of the doors and other wooden elements are recycled. They started this project last summer and hope to be finished by early May. The walls are up and Steve is about ready to install the ceiling, but the adobe is still exposed.
