One Year On Salisbury Is Declared Free Of Poison Novichok

SALISBURY, ENGLAND - MARCH 02: Sergei Skripal's home on March 02, 2019 in Salisbury, England. On March 4th 2018, a Russian double agent who had been living in Salisbury after defecting was found collapsed on a bench along with his daughter in The Maltings shopping centre. Sergei and Yulia Skripal had been poisoned by the nerve agent Novichok which was traced to the door handle of his home and likely planted by Russian secret agents. In July 2018, partners Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess became violently ill after handling a perfume bottle Rowley found in Queen Elizabeth Gardens close to the town centre. Sturgess subsequently died of poisoning. The longest running clean-up on British soil followed, named Operation Morlop, involving 600-800 specially trained military personnel including the chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear regiment.
