House Panel Weighs In On Nsa Program As Time To Enact New Ru

UNITED STATES - SEPTEMBER 20: Ranking member Jane Harman, D-Calif., during a news conference after the House Intelligence Committee approved legislation by Heather Wilson, R-N.M., the sponsor of a bill (HR 5825) that would extend the number of days the administration can conduct emergency surveillance without a warrant from three to five under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA -- PL 95-511). After that, an application for approval would have to be submitted to the secret court created by the 1978 law.
