(Original Caption) Playing his first football game as a professional, the famous "Red" Grange of Illinois finished the contest with a black eye and a sum estimated as $12,000. The Chicago Bears, for whom he played, finished the game in a scoreless tie with the Chicago Cardinals, their bitter rivals of the south side, before a crowd of over 40,000, in the Cub's Park. He gave the crowd their thrill by running back punts for 14, 25 and 30 yards. He rested near the end of the second period and the start of the third.
