Diahann Carroll Being Interviewed by Reporter

(Original Caption) Negro singing star of the Broadway hit, No Strings, Diahann Carroll sounds off to UPI reporter Charles Justice, in her Central Park West apartment on what she believes is the Jim Crowism attitude of Hollywood. Miss Carroll charged that Hollywood is afraid of the color issue because of possible distribution trouble in the South. The 27 year old star of the hit musical made the statements after it was revealed that Eurasian actress Nancy Kwan had been chosen to play her role in the Hollywood version to be filmed by Seven Arts productions.
