Kenyan Actor And Author Moses Ivayo Journey's With Stoma

Moses Ivayo (62), a resident, author of his book Storm in the Stomach, and an actor from Kibera Slums suffers from stoma (an opening on the abdomen that can be connected to either your digestive or urinary system to allow waste products to be delivered out of the body), a condition that occurred in 2016 after an accidental surgery failure at Kenyatta hospital. He is an actor with 1 film in his filmography and cast in Samsung Official TVC The Chant Rio 2016 Olympic Games, The Garden of Eden - John Irvin, LOST IN AFRICA Including CID Nairobi, a detective television series at the Kenya National Theatre (KNT), and many more. Mr Ivayos's surgery failure resulted from doctors performing their first surgery and removing thirty centimeters instead of six meters of his damaged small intestine thinking he was suffering from ulcers but instead he was suffering from Hernia (a condition that occurs when an internal organ or other body part protrudes through the walls of muscle or tissue that normally contains it). After the surgery, Moses who has no family was to go back for a check-up after every three months but due to trauma and mental challenges chose not to go back for a check-up. He's been getting most of his stoma bags donated by goodwill friends who mostly give him bags that can sustain him for a month but at times Moses is unable to get the bags when friends don't provide enough. He's able to work despite his stoma condition, his age, and a growth on his back that prevents him from doing hard and heavy jobs but light jobs.
