Search for Rampart Bodies in Mexico Slows

380234 01: A Mexican federal agent warns someone to stay away from the suspected crime scene where the agents are searching for three bodies, in Tijuana, Mexico, October 14, 2000, which were alledgedly buried by two former Los Angeles police officers including Rafael Perez, the star witness for the prosecution in the Los Angeles Police Department Rampart scandal. Perez, who cut a deal to lighten his sentence for stealing more than six pounds of cocaine from an LAPD evidence locker by telling of framings, drug dealing, beatings, and unjustified shootings by fellow officers, is now saying that he won''t testify unless he gets immunity from any findings in Mexico.
