Consecration Of St. Andrew The First-Called Church In Bucha

BUCHA, UKRAINE - AUGUST 25: Metropolitan Epiphanius conducts the liturgical service and the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called consecration on August 25, 2024 in Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine. The consecration of the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called took place in Bucha. The solemn liturgy was led by the primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The Bucha's church became a symbol of tragedy and insubordination for the whole world - on the territory of the church, during the occupation, in March 2022, the Russians arranged the largest mass grave in the city. Today, there is a memorial on the grave site - the Wall of Remembrance with the names of 509 people who died or was killes during the Bucha's occupation.
