Winner was Tom Courtney of the United States (153), with Britain's Derek Johnson (137) second and Audun Boysen of Norway (148) third. Others in the picture are A. Sowell of the United States (154); L.V. Spurrier of the United States (155), and M.A. Farrell of Britain (136). The winning time of one minute, 47.7 was a new Olympic record.
