(2/1/06- Chelsea, MA)- Lewis H. Latimer Society in Chelsea founded in 1997 by brothers Ron and Leo Robinson. The African American inventor was a Chelsea native and worked alongside Edison and Bell contributing to the development of this nation's electrical industry. Chelsea High student volunteer Bilal (cq) Barakati, 15, holds a telepone while Ron (left) and Leo Robinson adjust the snake switch electrical control board that dates back to the late 1800's.
