Senckenberg Institute for Plant Diversity Jena

10 June 2024, Thuringia, Jena: Frank Hellwig, Professor at the Chair of Special Botany and Director of the Haussknecht Herbarium, opens a folder from the Haussknecht Herbarium on the opening day of the Senckenberg Institute for Plant Diversity Jena in the main building of the FSU Jena. In the future, the scientific collections at the institute will be expanded into digital research platforms. The new institute also houses the Haussknecht herbarium, one of the most important European collections of plants with around 3.5 million specimens.
