Valley of the Fallen in Spain

FILED - 05 July 2018, Spain, El Escorial: A 155 metres high and 44 metres wide concrete cross stands on the top of the Risco de la Nava behind the Benedictine abbey in the Valle de los Caidos (Valley of the Fallen). Inside the monument next to Cuelgamuros near El Escorial in the Sierra de Guadarrama lies the tomb of Spanish dictator Francisco Franco and the founder of the fascist movement Falange, José Antonio Primo de Rivera. It is known as one of the largest newer mausoleums of the world and the most important architectural symbol of Franco's dictatorship.
