Lamberto Dalla Costa Hugging His Son

(Original Caption) Italian bobsledder Lamberto Dalla Costa (right) gets a congratulatory kiss from his son after driving his two man sled to the Olympic championship. Dalla Costa, an Italian Air Force jet pilot, and his brakeman, Giacomo Conti, rocketed down the one mile Olympic ice chute in runs of 1:22.95 and 1:22.74 in the two final heats. Added to the time for the first two heats, run the day before, this gave the Italians a combined time of 5:30.14. Second place in the event went to another Italian bobsled team, and third place went to Sweden.
