The Queen Visits Nottingham

13th June, 2012: Her Majesty The Queen today visits the East Midlands as part of her Diammond Jubiee tour of the United Kingdom. The queen will not be accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh as he is still recovering from his bladder infection. But, HM will be joined by The Duke and The Duchess of Cambridge on the first two engagements in Nottingham. Prince William and Catherine will meet the queen at Nottingham Rail Station and accompany her to Market Square and Vernon Park. At Market Square they will undertake a short walkabout and then enter Nottingham Council House where they make a balcony appearance and attend a reception. At Vernon Park the queen will unveil a plaque to name the playing field as one of the Queen Elizabeth II Playing Fields. The Queen will then leave to visit Burghley House which is hosting a "Diamond Jubilee Picnic" but Prince William and Catherine will stay on at Vernon Park to view activities.
