ROTC Students Seen Saluting Through Salute

(Original Caption) 10/8/1970-Chapel Hill, NC- Carol Earp, (L), returns salute after enrolling in the Air Force ROTC at the Univ. of North Carolina. Miss Earp says she prefers wearing a mini skirt but she'll take whatever the Air Force sends her. "I don't feel special about this," she said, but as the first woman ever to join the program at Carolina, she is something special. She is attending classes in aerospace studies and will participate in drill like her male counterparts.
