Portugal Suffers Fuel Prices Increase Due To The Ukrainian Conflict, Drought And Pandemic
CASCAIS, PORTUGAL - MARCH 06: Cars queue for fuel at pumps of a CEPSA Gas Station on the eve of an announced fuel price increase on March 06, 2022, in Cascais, Portugal. Fuel prices are being affected in Portugal by the war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic and the drought. According to the reference prices of the National Energy Market Entity (ENSE) the average price of plain diesel, currently 1.754 euros per liter, may reach 1.90 euros as of March 07, and gasoline 95, currently costing on average 1.795 euros per liter, may reach 1.88 euros, meaning that the average cost of diesel may be higher than that of gasoline. Russia's ground forces invaded Ukraine from several directions on February 24 within hours of President Vladimir Putin announcing his decision to launch an assault.
