(Original Caption) At five o'clock every morning, rain or shine, pretty 15 year old Carol Heiss turned out of her Ozone Park, New York home for another in an endless series of figure skating practice sessions. The cute hazel eyed blonde was preparing for the 1956 Winter Olympics, at Cortina D'Ampezzo in Italy. She hoped to win the coveted Olympic Gold Medal by beating the Women's World Champion Tenley Albright, to whom Carol was runner up. To get in shape for that task, she put in 4 1/2 hours of solid practice on the ice seven days a week.
