Protests at the Oakland Induction Center

Anti-draft demonstrator, injured by club-swinging police, is aided by anguished friends. Squads of police, winging clubs and firing cannisters of eye stinging liquids dispersed crowd of 2,000 demonstrators outside the Northern California Induction center. The force of 200 officers, marching in ranks of forty, swept along the middle of the street and in minutes sealed off the block in front of the station and controlled four corners of each intersection.
