Germany Faces Turbulent Energy Market

Germany is facing a turbulent energy market brought on by consequences stemming from the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine. Germany has been heavily dependent on natural gas imports from Russia, and because these have been greatly diminished, the price of natural gas has skyrocketed, spelling woes for both consumers and industry. And because the price of electricity is coupled to the price of natural gas, electricity prices have risen sharply as well, even from renewable sources that have no link to foreign energy imports.
