ANKARA, TURKEY - JUNE 27: The black and white pictures Turkish General Staff has released on June 27, 2014 show the Caucasus front during the World War I. The pictures released by the General Staff on the 100th anniversary of the battle mirror the villagers, children and women, troops and their conditions as well as the different fronts Turkish army has fought such as the campaigns in South Arabia known as Yemen-Hejaz front, Syria, Iraq known as Mesopotamian campaign, the Caucasus, Macedonia known as Balkans Campaign, Sinai and Palestine Campaign and Gallipoli Campaign. The immediate trigger for war is known to be the 28 June 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, by Yugoslav nationalist Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo.
