Mr. Rahul Gandhi (37) and political heir apparent for the Indian National Congress Party of India is the fifth generation of his family to take leadership position. He comes from the 'first' political family of India, the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. Rahul made his debut as a senior office bearer of the party and gave his maiden speech at the All India Congress Committee's annual covention. Rahul's mother, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is the chairperson of the alliance that governs India and his is father Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi another former prime minister.
