LIM VILLAGE, BAC NINH, VIETNAM - 2013/02/22: Vietnamese people pose for photo with an old man who has an unique hairstyle at the Lim festival. The Lim festival takes place at the 13th day of the first lunar month in Lim village, about 18 kilometers from Hanoi. This is one of the most well-known festivals in Vietnam when folk songs called Quan Ho are performed. The legend says that a woman named Ba Mu, who attained enlightenment after becoming a Buddhist monk at the Lim pagoda, had ended a drought in the village on the request of the villagers. Henceforth the people of the village worshipped her as their protector and took the date of her enlightenment as the date of the festival in Vietnam.
Quan Ho is the dialog performance between male singers and female singers. The singers have to be quick witted and have strong grasp of traditional tunes, history and meaning of the songs.. (Photo by Chau Doan/LightRocket via Getty Images)
