The Van Gogh mega portrait, a self portrait of the artist himself, was on view from May 2012 until October 2012. The portrait is made out of plants and natural materials such as grass and wood chips that changde in color naturally over time. It is located next to the windmill that Van Gogh painted in 1884, titled “De Roosdonck”, as seen on this image.

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) painted this self-portrait after a quarrel with fellow artist Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) at Arles during which he threatened Gauguin with a razor.
